భారతదేశంలో ప్రఖ్యాతిగాంచిన ఆధ్యాత్మిక క్షేత్రాల్లో ఒకటిగా కర్నూలు జిల్లాలోని మంత్రాలయం- శ్రీ రాఘవేంద్రస్వామివారి మఠం వెలుగొందుతోంది. వేలకొలదీ భక్తులు తరచూ మంత్రాలయ దర్శనానికి వస్తుంటారు.


జీవితం:
రాఘవేంద్రస్వామి వెంకణ్ణ భట్టుగా తమిళనాడులోని భువనగిరిలో తిమ్మణ్ణభట్టు మరియు గోపికాంబ అనే కన్నడ బ్రాహ్మణ దంపతికి రెండవ సంతానంగా 1595లో జన్మించారు. జన్మ సంవత్సరం 1598 లేదా 1601 కూడా కావచ్చు అనే వాదనలున్నాయి. వేంకటేశ్వర స్వామి వారి అనుగ్రహంతో పుట్టినందుకు ఈతణ్ణి చిన్నప్పుడు వేంకటనాథుడనీ, వేంకటాచార్య అని కూడా పిలిచేవారు. తన బావ లక్ష్మీనరసింహాచార్ వద్ద మదురైలో ప్రాథమిక విద్యను అభ్యసించాక, వేంకటనాథుడ్ని కుంభకోణంలోని శ్రీమఠంలో విద్యార్థిగా చేరి, ఆపై రాఘవేంద్ర తీర్థులుగా సన్యసించారు. 1614లో మదురై నుండి తిరిగి వచ్చినపుడు సరస్వతీబాయితో వీరికి వివాహమయింది. వీరి కొడుకు లక్ష్మీనారాయణాచార్య అదే సంవత్సరంలో పుట్టాడు. ఆ తర్వాత కుటుంబమంతా కుంభకోణం చేరుకుంది. శ్రీమఠంలో రాఘవేంద్ర స్వామి సుధీంద్రతీర్థుల వద్ద అభ్యసించడం మొదలుపెట్టారు. అనతికాలంలో గొప్ప విద్యార్థిగా ఉద్భవించి, అన్ని వాదోపవదాల్లో తర్కాలలో తనకంటే పెద్దవారిని సైతం ఓడించారు. సంస్కృత మరియు వైదికశాస్త్రాల్లో నిష్ణాతుడై ఇతరులకు బోధించడం మొదలుపెట్టాడు. రాఘవేంద్రస్వామి సంగీతంలో కూడా నిష్ణాతులే, ఆయన కాలంలో ఆయనో గొప్ప వైణికుడు కూడా. గురువు తరువాత మఠం బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించి ఆపై దక్షిణభారతదేశమంతా విజయం చేయటానికి బయలుదేరారు. మార్గంలో ఎన్నో అద్భుతాలను తన శిష్యబృందానికి చూపిస్తూ మధ్వప్రోక్త ద్వైత సిద్ధాంతానికి బాగా ప్రచారం చేసారు. 1671 లో తన శిష్యబృందంతో రాబోయే 800 సంవత్సరాలు జీవించే ఉంటానని చెప్పి మంత్రాలయంలో జీవసమాధి పొందారు.

Temple History:
మంత్రాలయం ఒకప్పుడు మారుమూల ప్రాంతం. మంచాల గ్రామంగా పిలిచేవారు. ఆదోని నవాబు పాలనలో ఉండేది. మధ్వమఠంలో సన్యాసం స్వీకరించిన రాఘవేంద్రస్వామి అక్కడున్న మూల రాములను పూజిస్తూ, బోధనలు చేస్తూ మంత్రాలయానికి వచ్చారు. స్వామి పూర్వ అవతారం శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు భక్తపరాయణుల్లో ఒకడైన ప్రహ్లాదుడు. అప్పుడు యజ్ఞాలు, యాగాలు చేసిన స్థలం మంత్రాలయమని గాథ. అందుకే పూర్వవతారంలో రాజుగా పాలించిన స్థలం కావడంతో ఇక్కడే తాను బృందావనస్థులు (జీవ సమాధి) కావాలని స్వామి తలచారు. ఆ సమయంలోనే ఆ గ్రామదేవత మంచాలమ్మ (రేణుకాంబ రూపిణి) రాఘవేంద్రస్వామిని ఇక్కడే ఉంచాలని ఆజ్ఞాపించిందట! దీంతో స్వామి ఇక్కడే ఉంటూ చివరకు ఇక్కడే బృందావనస్థులు అయ్యారు. అప్పటి నుంచి నిత్యం రాఘవేంద్రస్వామి మూల బృందావననానికి పండితులు మంత్రాలు వల్లిస్తూ ఉండటంతో ఈ మఠం కాలక్రమంలో మంత్రాలయంగా మారిందని చెబుతారు. ఇక్కడికొచ్చే భక్తులు ముందుగా గ్రామదేవత మంచాలమ్మను దర్శించుకుని... అనంతరం రాఘవేంద్రస్వామి బృందావనాన్ని దర్శించుకొంటారు.

మంత్రాలయం లో మనం ఆలయం రూమ్స్ బుక్ చేసుకోవచ్చు. ఈ రూమ్స్ నెల రోజుల ముందుగా విడుదల చేస్తారు. ప్రతి రోజు రాత్రి 12 గంటలకు విడుదల చేస్తున్నారు. ఈ రోజు జనవరి 1వ తేదీ అనుకుంటే ఈ రోజు రాత్రికి ఫిబ్రవరి 1వ తేదీ రూమ్స్ విడుదల చేస్తారు.

Sri Matha has over 1300 rooms in Mantralaya. Out of these, around 300 rooms are available for online booking, while the rest can be availed through current booking by personally visiting the CRO (Central Reception Office).

NOTE: Due to security reasons, single-person accommodation is not provided. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Important Guidelines

Room number is allotted only at check-in.

Keys must be collected from the CRO Office at check-in.

A refundable deposit equal to one day's rent must be paid in cash.

No cancellation, refund, or date/time change allowed.

Bookings are non-transferable.

No rooms will be allotted for single-person stays.

Buses:
Many South Indian cities are connected to Mantralaya by bus--Bangalore, Tirupati, Mangalore, Madras, Hyderabad, Bellary and Mysore.The conducted tours from Hyderabad are typically 7 hours long (one way), leaving every Saturday at 9.30 am and returning on Sunday at 9.00pm. They usually cover the Brindavan as well as the Raghavendra Swamy Temple.

Train:
The nearest Railway station is MANTRALAYAM ROAD, which is about 12KM from Mantralaya. Most of the trains stop here except for the super fast trains. a bus or rental van can be taken to Mantralaya (about a 1 hr ride).
